5 Tips for How to Get Kids to Wear a Hat
We’ve all been there. It’s either super hot and you’re trying to protect your little one from the sun OR it’s freezing and you want to wrap them and your little one just WON’T wear their hat.
It’s a tale as old as time and every parent knows it. So I’m going to let you into a few secrets to help.
1. Let them choose their hat
It doesn’t matter if it’s not quite the pleasing instagram aesthetic, the important thing is they wear it and letting them choose is really helpful.

2. Give the hat a name
Go grab your ‘bear’ hat or the ‘banana hat’ rather than just a hat personalise it to them so it feels special to them and talk about it even when they’re not wearing it. ‘I can’t wait to get your cat hat out for the park’.
3. Add a coat hook or outdoor basket by the door
Kids love to ‘do it themselves’, easy access to their hats, gloves, scarves all really helps.
4. Choose a super comfy hat
Seems obvious right?! But not all hats are created equally. Look for natural fibres as they comfier on the skin and pick something in the right size. Something too big or small means little ones get frustrated.

5. You wear a hat too
Kids love to do what you do. So show them. When it’s time to go out talk to them about what you’re doing. ‘I’m going to put on my coat and hat to keep warm and snug and my boots so I can jump in puddles.
